“I’ve looked at life from both sides now,
From win and lose and still somehow,
It’s life’s illusions I recall,
I really don’t know life at all” – “Both Sides Now” by Joni Mitchell
Carol Isaak’s photographs coax the eye in and out of juxtaposed layers of transparencies, piercings or reflections that hide as much as they reveal, seducing the viewer to create his or her own narrative. Isaak’s series “Layers of Illusion” is being exhibited by the Griffin Museum of Photography at Stoneham Theatre through November 5, 2015. You are invited to join the artist at a free public reception on Thursday, September 3, 2015, from 6:30 – 8:00pm!
