It’s that time of year again: a handful of creative middle schoolers from Dorchester’s Epiphany School are exhibiting photographs made over the past academic year, hosted for the third time by the Photographic Resource Center (PRC, 832 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston) from May 14th to May 31st, 2015! The show, entitled “I am…T.B.D.” is the culmination of a year of photographic exploration for five students, given cameras by the TAKE 5 Foundation and guided by Boston photographer Brenda Bancel in an effort to introduce ambitious, less priveleged students to the photographic arts. The show is guest-curated by Susan Nalband, owner of 555 Gallery in South Boston. The exhibiting artists will be at the PRC’s opening reception on Thursday, May 14th, from 5:30 – 8:00pm. Here’s a quick introduction to each student photographer:

Toni Gomez’s self-portrait portrays her as a marcher with Martin Luther King, Jr., part of a tribute to those who inspire her.

Randall Ramirez’s photograph expresses his hope that the future will become as exciting as the scenes he is only able to observe in video games.

Nikkia Andrade documents a very close relationship with her brother, hoping to annoy him at least a little in the process.

Theresa Devarieux uses photography as a means of expressing her bold personality through her passion for shoes.

Arianna Bravo’s photograph of a chandelier explores a world of shapes and textures, reflecting how complicated life is and how the complications can look beautiful when taken together.
