There is a free, public artist’s reception from 5:30 – 7:00pm for “Recent Work” by Michael Hintlian in the Garner Center at New England School of Photography (NESOP) in Boston’s Kenmore Square. Hintlian’s magnetic documentary “street” photographs are a cool blend of his sophisticated eye and his mad skills in B&W film photography (Feature Image).  The show runs through April 22, 2016.  http://www.nesop.edu/events/the-garner-center/michael-hintlian/

The DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA hosts an opening reception at 7:00pm for “Overgrowth”, their multi-media group show that will run through September 18, 2016. Examining how artists represent prolific growth, expansion and transformation in the natural world and built environment, the show features the work of photographers like Barbara Bosworth, Harold “Doc” Edgerton, Chris Enos, Larry Fink, Lee Friedlander, Frank Gohlke, Laura McPhee, Rachel Perry, Edward Steichen and David Wolf (above).  http://www.decordova.org/art/exhibition/overgrowth

Gallery Kayafas in Boston’s SoWa gallery district is hosting a talk by book artist Daniel Kelm from 6:00 – 8:00pm.  Held in conjunction with the current TRIIIBE show, for whom Kelm created their handmade book, Fine Wallpaper, this free event is open to everyone interested in exploring book production ideas.  https://www.facebook.com/events/488645291337865/
